Sintra, Lisbon

Sintra, Lisbon

Sintra is a delightful Portuguese town that lies 25km to the west of Lisbon. It houses a Royal Palace, used by generations of Portuguese royalty prior to the 1910 revolution. One of the most beautiful historical building that one must not miss is Palácio da Pena. It is the most complete and notable example of Portuguese architecture in the Romantic period.
One just need to take a train from Lisbon's Rossio station (on Rossio square in the heart of the city) to Sintra. The Viagem card that we used for Tram 28E could also be used for this train from Rossio to Sintra. The train station in Sintra is a 15-20 minute walk from the town centre
