Notre-Dame, the heart of the country, both geographically and spiritually, the cathedral of Notre-Dame (Our Lady) stands majestically on the Ile de la Cite. It was almost destroyed during the Revolution. It houses the France's largest organ here. Joan of Arc was one of the visitors to Notre-Dame.
